Sometimes big, flashy shows grab the headlines, however some conferences and conventions are just as important. Trade associations exist to protect and communicate the interests of its members. Utility, as members, exhibited at two important annual trade association events this spring: the TCA Annual Convention and the NPTC Annual Conference.
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) represents nearly 700 companies working in and serving the truckload freight industry. The 2018 TCA Annual Convention was held March 25-28 in Kissimmee, Florida and was themed “The Future of Truckload.” In addition to the exhibition, the event hosted several sessions, meetings, an awards banquet and a scholarship gala. Next year the 2019 TCA Annual Convention will be held at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort from March 10-13.
The National Private Truck Council (NPTC) was founded in 1939 and represents the interests of private fleets. These corporate or private truck fleets are operated to meet the inbound and outbound transportation needs of their companies. The annual conference featured over 180 exhibitors and was held in Cincinnati, Ohio from April 29 – May 1. Next year’s NPTC annual conference will again be in Cincinnati, Ohio April 14-16, 2019.
