With COVID-19 drawing everyone’s attention, it became easy to overlook a significant milestone at the Glade Spring dry van manufacturing plant — its 20th anniversary.
Plans changed for many businesses. That was true for the Workforce Heroes Program and its recruitment tour through the nation. “Our whole program changed as a result of the pandemic,” said Elizabeth Barna, EVP, Industry Affairs & Senior Advisor to the President & CEO of American Trucking Associations.
“Work Hard. Play Hard. Do Good.” is the motto at Craftsmen Utility Trailer, and “Doing Good” is lived out through Craftsmen Cares, a charitable foundation established by the Helmsing family through Craftsmen Utility Trailer.
Over the past year, one would regularly turn on the news to hear about the stress that health care workers were under as they cared for COVID-19 patients. Team members at Utility’s Glade Spring, VA plant asked what they could do to show them they cared.
That unifying spirit was put on display by the team members’ children and grandchildren who created drawings for a Special Edition 2021 calendar, based on the theme — “We are Utility Strong”.
The tradeshow circuit began September 30th, when women from Utility Corporate met up with associates from Craftsmen Utility Trailer and Utility Trailer Southeast Texas and 1,100 others to participate in the Accelerate! Conference & Expo.
