THE NEW 4000AE™ DROP DECK PROVES ITS METTLE

The perfect combination of light weight and strong.

Utility is on a mission to evolve flatbed trailer design, making flatbeds stronger, lighter and a better value. This mission is further illustrated with the introduction of their latest flatbed – the strong, light weight 4000AE™ Drop Deck flatbed trailer.

“Our new 4000AE Drop Deck incorporates advanced technology that was engineered into our 4000AE combo flatbed, and it delivers the long-term benefits of both steel and aluminum,” said Jeff Bennett, Vice President of Engineering and Product Development for Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. “In fact, a customer will be pleased to discover that it weighs less than some all-aluminum trailers, yet it is available at a sensible combo-trailer price.”

Designed to haul heavy or awkward loads, the 4000AE Drop Deck features a combination of 3” and 4” aluminum crossmembers and has an 80,000 lb evenly distributed payload capacity. It comes standard with a 39,000 lb coil haul package with a 5-foot span of 4” tapered to 3” aluminum crossmembers on 8” centerlines. The 4000AE Drop Deck also features ConMet aluminum hubs which delivers additional weight savings without any compromise to durability, strength or performance.

Steel main beams are shot blasted prior to painting and then coated with a two-part primer and two-part urethane coat on the exterior surface. A rust preventative coating is also applied to all interior beam surfaces. Exacting attention was paid to every detail in order to build a Drop Deck product that delivers a lower total cost of ownership to the customer.
