Utility Trailers of New England Celebrates 35th Anniversary

Event is a “Thank You” to their customers

When Jon Comeford decided to become a mechanic for a trailer company in 1976, he didn’t know where the decision would lead. It first led to his transition to the Parts Department and then to a promotion to Parts Manager. In 1982, Jon started his own truck and trailer parts business, and in 1984, he partnered with his father, Bob Comeford and Neil McAneny to open Utility Trailers of New England. Bob oversaw day-to-day business operations, Neil headed up Sales and Jon ran the Parts and Service departments. After Bob and Neil retired in 1998, Jon assumed full ownership of the company.

“After six years in the industry, I was hooked! I was doing well as a parts reseller in the region, but the next logical step was to team up with Bob and Neil to start a full-service trailer dealership,” said Jon. “From the outset it was very clear that Utility was the best trailer choice. They had a great reputation for manufacturing high quality, durable trailers. We were very fortunate to become the Utility Dealer for New England and join the Utility Family.” And for 35 years they have been a growing and successful part of that family.

“Utility Trailers of New England has been a fixture in the North East since they opened,” said Chad Thornton, Regional Sales Manager for Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. “They’ve earned a reputation for being loyal to their customers. It’s been incredible to work with them, and I consider them friends.”

The 35th anniversary event turned into a huge success. “The most rewarding aspect of being a Utility dealer is the customer, and this day was our way of saying thank you,” added Jon. “With the generosity of our key vendors, we were able to raffle amazing prizes and provide a delicious BBQ. Everyone in attendance received a goodie bag of t-shirts, hats and other handouts. A special round of thanks to Utility and our other vendors for making our anniversary celebration so wonderful! We have a great ‘family’ of employees that make the day-to-day grind much easier! Thank you to each of them, our vendors
