Getting the Show on the Road

Utility gets to TMC and NPTC

Utility hit the road to show up at the American Trucking Association’s 2019 TMC Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition, which was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from March 18th to March 21st. The purpose of the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) is to improve transport equipment, its maintenance and maintenance management, and this year’s event was themed Beyond the Frontier of Maintenance.

Utility had three trailers on display at the exhibition; a 4000D-X Composite® TBR dry van, a 3000R® Multi-Temp reefer, and their 4000AE® flatbed. The 3000R Multi-Temp and 4000D-X Composite featured back-up and interior cameras installed by Phillips Industries. Images were displayed on monitors outside of the trailers, as well as on iPads and iPhones. Both trailers were also equipped with LED corner lights, also installed by Phillips Industries.

Each trailer was fitted with other gear as well. The 3000R Multi-Temp featured Utility Side Skirts, a Palfinger Slider Liftgate, center divide bulkheads, and galvanized aluminum support legs. The 4000D-X Composite TBR was also equipped with Utility Side Skirts, and galvanized aluminum support legs, but it featured Utility’s new Aerodynamic Tail. Finally, the 4000AE flatbed was displayed with a Hendrickson ZMD suspension.

While at TMC, Utility attended a reception and dinner for the CCJ Fleet Executive Career Leadership Award. They were part-sponsors for this event.

In April, Utility moved north to the National Private Truck Council’s (NPTC) 2019 Annual Education Management Conference and Exhibition held at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, OH, from April

14th to April 16th. The three-day conference provides attendees with an opportunity to meet vendors in the exhibit hall and ways to improve operations from panel discussions and best-practice sessions.

“It’s invaluable for us to attend these shows,” said Craig Bennett, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Utility, “We’re supporting our dealers and interacting with both customers and vendors, who help provide us with great insight into the industry. It’s always nice to see customers in our booth. lt gives us a chance to thank them for their business.”
