Utility and Craftsmen Sponsor December Event

Utility partnered with Craftsmen Utility Trailer in last December’s National Wreaths Across America Day. Wreaths Across America is a non-profit organization whose mission is to remember fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve and teach young people the value of freedom.

Every December, donated wreaths are placed on graves at Arlington National Cemetery and 2,100 other locations throughout the U.S. where wreath laying ceremonies are coordinated by the organization. The escort to Arlington’s National Cemetery began on December 7th in Lubec, Maine with a convoy that included a 2020 Utility 4000D-X Composite® TBR dry van trailer that Utility had donated to the American Trucking Association’s (ATA) Heroes Truck program back in October.

To further support this great cause, 125 Craftsmen Utility Trailer employees, customers, and vendor partners were involved in laying more than 3,000 donated wreaths on the morning of Saturday, December 14th at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery near St. Louis, Missouri; Missouri State Veterans Cemetery near Sikeston, Missouri; and Rock Island National Cemetery near Davenport, Iowa.

“We’re proud to sponsor an organization that honors the dedicated people who’ve fought for our freedom,” said Steve Bennett, Vice President of Utility. “This organization’s mission aligns with Utility’s beliefs in supporting the veterans’ community and the advocacy for American freedom.”

“Laying the wreaths was a moving experience for our team. We’re already making plans to continue this great program to honor our veterans again in 2020,” said Lou Helmsing, President of Craftsmen.
