UTILITY EXHIBITS AT THIS YEAR’S GATS
The Great American Trucking Show (GATS) is the nation’s second largest industry trade show for trucking professionals. The 15th annual GATS show was held on August 22nd through August 24th in Dallas, Texas. Utility was among the 500+ exhibitors this year representing truck, trailer, engine, component and parts manufacturers, as well as services catering to the heavy and medium duty truck industry.
Events held at GATS included Overdrive’s Pride and Polish Truck Beauty Competition and the 4th Annual CVOC (Commercial Vehicle Outlook Conference) hosted by Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association. Utility’s Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Craig Bennett was among the panel of industry experts discussing The Future of Fuel Economy: 2017 and Beyond. Bennett was a part of a discussion in which industry experts addressed the future of advancements in fuel economy from integrating drivetrains and trailers to drive efficiencies. Derek Kaufman, CEO of Mission Motors moderated the panel discussion. Other panelists alongside Bennett were David Hames, General Manager, Marketing & Strategy for Daimler Trucks North America, Chairman & CEO for U.S. Xpress, Max Fuller and Jim Fier, Executive Engineer (Midrange and Heavy Duty Engineering) for Cummins, Inc.
